Kicked Off the Team

Due to repeated sportsmanship issues with everyone from teammates to coaches to refs, Owen was kicked off his travel soccer team this weekend. For all of us who love Owen, our heart breaks for him as he and we struggle with his challenges in this area of his life. Owen is a gifted athlete and we know that he can learn to use his God-given talents in a way that will make him, us, and, most importantly, his Heavenly Father happy again someday soon. There's been a lot said and done about change and repentance in our home today, and what we need now is just your love and support. Lots of it. Some of the lessons we learn in life are oh, so hard, on little hearts. Man, these bad news blog posts are tough...

Happy Spring,
Grandma and Grandpa Joyce!

From our house, to yours

We miss you here in Maryland so we took a little visit to your house. It's not the same without you, but we thought you might enjoy a few photos of Spring on its way on Nesbit Road. I think the daffodils are waiting for you to get home before they open. Your flowers are about a week and a half behind ours...

Looking forward to seeing you soon.
Love from all of us.

Pizza Party!

... and it was Hot! Hot! Hot! Reilly celebrated his 7th birthday with friends and cousins yesterday at an awesome pizza party, thanks to our good friend and Graeme's baseball coach, Ray Sears, who opened up his local Papa John's Pizza shop to our aspiring chefs! We had so much fun placing an order in the computer and following it all around the store, from the refrigerator to dough tossing, from topping assembly to baking , from slicing and boxing to the big driver assignment map... to our house with a special delivery from Mr. Slice! Our pizzas tasted GREAT!
Thank you very much to everyone who helped give Reilly an afternoon of seven-year-old,
unforgettable fun. You know what they say, " Better ingredients, Better pizza!" or in other words, "Better friends, Better fun!"

Famous Americans

Amelia Earhart, Barack Obama, Annie Oakley, Walt Disney, and Mia Hamm all visited Reilly's 1st grade class today. Did you know that Sacajawea carried a baby boy on her back all the way across the country? Or remember who said, "Give me Liberty or Give me death?" The students had fun reminding us (Patrick Henry) by dressing in costumes and giving mini reports about their favorite famous Americans today. If you know Reilly, you know he chose a baseball player. So who was the famous #42 for the Brooklyn Dodgers who won Rookie of the Year in 1947 and National League MVP in 1949? He also played in six All Star games and six World Series. His success changed the way Americans thought about black people. You got it; it was Jackie Robinson, the first African American MLB player, inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1962. Great job, Reilly. This has been quite a week for you!

Happy Birthday to You!

Hope you had a special day, Reilly Thomas. Seven years have come and gone so very quickly. We brought home a tiny pumpkin seed and now we have a great big T. We love you more than you will ever know. Now let's cut that cheesecake and stop all this blubbering!
Hey Now! You're an All Star!

Connor and Graeme were selected to play in the Baltimore Beltway Soccer League All Star game at First Mariner Arena where the Baltimore Blast play. Okay, Connor's whole team was selected for the honor this year and Graeme was invited to join them since he has been doing a great job helping them out in their winter league. They love playing together and this was a real treat, testing out their moves on an official MISL pitch and banging it off the same walls as some of their favorite stars!
SOLD!!!

For $2,600!!!
We love our school!
