The Long and the Short of It:
Part I
Connor's long hair and staples

Connor's short hair, 1 week after staple removal

We were really looking forward to Connor's trip back to Hopkins for staple removal. All 40 staples came out in less than 10 minutes with no problem. He brought along balloons and a basket of magazines, puzzle books and candy to share with the other teen patients at the hospital. It was an amazing blessing to be on "the other side" already and to be able to visit other kids, share his smile and story and wish them all a speedy recovery, just like his!

The scar is healing extremely well. You can see it on staple removal day above in green shirt, 2 weeks after accident, and then see how it has healed even more one week after that on haircut day in the blue shirt above, 3 weeks after accident. Now he's just waiting for medical clearance to start a little running and non-contact soccer practice this week. It is amazing how far he has come so quickly. We are so grateful.

  3. No contact soccer? How does that work? I'm sure you'll find a way Connor! Everything really really does look ridiculously great! I think that every summer you should shave down your hair and rock the scar to remind us all of how awesome you are and how lucky we all are to have you here with us. I love you connor. Auntie Kim

  4. Woa Connor! That's crazy. You're a real tough guy. I think a scar like that is cool because it makes everyone see what a fighter you are. I'm glad you are getting better. Trevan
I wish we could be there to play some soccer with you. I'd make sure you wouldn't get hurt and you would also probably be able to kick my butt! Keep getting better cous. Love you. Rylan
